1. Parties to this agreement
This Rental Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Urban Go Rentals Pty Ltd (ABN 00 000 000 000) ("the Company") and the person named as the renter on the booking confirmation ("the Renter").
2. Vehicle use
- The vehicle must only be driven by the named renter or approved additional drivers listed on this agreement.
- Metro vehicles are restricted to travel within 55 km of the Melbourne CBD. Travelling beyond this distance without upgrading to an out-of-metro plan will void your insurance.
- The vehicle must not be used for hire, reward, racing, towing, or any unlawful purpose.
- Off-road driving is strictly prohibited unless an approved 4WD plan is held.
3. Driver eligibility
- All drivers must hold a current, valid driver's licence for the class of vehicle rented.
- Minimum driver age is 21 years. Drivers aged 21–24 attract an underage surcharge of $5.50/day.
- International drivers must present a valid International Driving Permit alongside their home-country licence.
4. Fuel & condition
- Vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. A refuelling fee of $25 plus the cost of fuel applies if not returned full.
- The vehicle must be returned in the same clean condition as collected. An excess cleaning fee of up to $200 may apply.
5. Damage & liability
- The renter is liable for all damage to the vehicle during the rental period, up to the excess amount shown on the booking confirmation.
- Standard excess: $2,500. Reduced excess options are available at time of booking.
- Damage to tyres, windscreens, underbody, and roof is not covered by standard insurance and is the full liability of the renter.
- Any accident must be reported to Urban Go Rentals within 24 hours. Failure to report may void all insurance cover.
6. Traffic infringements & fines
- The renter is solely responsible for all tolls, parking fines, speed camera notices, and other traffic infringements incurred during the rental period.
- A $55 administration fee applies for each infringement processed by Urban Go Rentals on the renter's behalf.
- Urban Go Rentals will provide renter details to relevant authorities upon request.
⚠️ Unpaid fines may result in the debt being referred to a collections agency and a negative impact on your rental history with Urban Go Rentals.
7. Breakdown & roadside assistance
24/7 roadside assistance is included with all rentals. In the event of a breakdown, call 1800 UGO RENT (1800 846 736). Do not arrange your own roadside assistance without prior approval — unauthorised costs will not be reimbursed.
8. Cancellations & extensions
- Cancellations made more than 48 hours before pickup: full refund.
- Cancellations within 48 hours: one day's rental charge applies.
- Extensions must be requested at least 4 hours before the scheduled return time. Unauthorised late returns attract a fee of 1.5× the daily rate per day.
9. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
